Overview

What We Do

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN’s global development organization, advocating for change and connecting the Pacific to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life since the 1970s. We are on the ground in 10 Pacific Island countries, working with governments and people on their own solutions to global and national development challenges.

Our Goals

UNDP’s work in the Pacific under the Sub-regional Programme Document for the Pacific seeks to strengthen linkages between country, regional and global interventions that will reinforce programme impact in the sub-region. This programme strategy fortifies the 2013-2017 United Nations Development Assistance Framework in the Pacific, which was developed with 14 governments of the countries and territories, and other development partners, and underpinsjoint internal annual work planning and review processes in the Fiji and Samoa Multi-Country Offices and the Pacific Centre. To this end, UNDP will provide support in governance; inclusive growth and poverty reduction; gender equality; climate change, environment, and disaster risk reduction and management.
